MOTORING ACCIDENT.

A motor-car which had travelled from Wel'.injton to Petone last week met with an accident between Horokiwi Road and the signal-box at the Petone railway crossing A sudden swerve across the road was followed by a complete somersault, the car landing on its wheels once more. Two passeneers in the car were inimwl. Mrs. H. Wilson, a widow, who resides with her parents at Petone, was somewhat seriously shaken. After being attended by Dr. Kerr-Hislop she was removed to the Wellington Hospital in the ambulance. Mr. A. Francis, the other passenger, received a minor injury to one of his hands. The driver was considerably shaken. It is believed that the accident was due to a defect in th* car's steering-gear. The car, which was not greatly damaged, was left on the road, its driver riding into town on the ambulance.
