HAULAGE FOR COAL.
SUFFICIENT TRUCKS ASSURED
ACTION BY THE PREMIER.
An adequate supply of coal trucks is assured for the Auckland district.
The users- of coal trucks in Auckland have received an assurance from the Prime Minister that everything will be done to relieve the shortage. To this end he had discussed the question with the responsible officers of the Railway Department. >
Mr. R. McVflly, General Manager of the New Zealand Railway Department, stated on Saturday that the shortage of trucks was due to heavy traffic in the Auckland and Southern districts. He expected to supply the requirements at this end ; :nmediately, as everything possible was Knng done to meet the present emergency.
