NEW VESSEL PURCHASED. FORMER GERMAN STEAMER. Australian and NZ. Cable Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) ' LONDON, Dec. 9. The Union Steam Ship * Company, of New Zealand, has purchased the former German steamer John Heidmanh, 2380 tons, which has been renamed Kaimanawa. The John Heidmann was formerly owned by the Heidmann line of Hamburg. She was built at Flensburg in 1909.
