Public Notices. NOTICE MAKING AND LEVYING i> RATES UNDER THE RANGITAIKI LAND DRAINAGE ACT, 1910. I, DAVID HENRY GUTHRIE -Minister for Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, do hereby make and levy upon the unimproved value of all lands liable to be rated, pursuant to that Act, a rate on a graduated scale, as specified in the Schedule hereto, according to the classification of the land. The said rates will be payable in one sum on the 15th day of December, 1920. to the Collector of Rates for the Rangitaiki Land Drainage District, at the Chief Drainage Engineer's Office. 43, High Street, Auckland, at which office the rate book is open for inspection. A copy of the rate book may be inspected by ratepayers at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer at Thornton, near Whakatane, at.all times, at which that office is open for the transaction of public business. SCHEDULE. ! CLASS A. —On the 'unimproved value of i all lands classified as Class A by the Arbitrators appointed under the said Act. Five- | pence and Seventy-nine One-hundredths of | a Penny (5 79-100 d) in the Pound. CLASS B.—On tha unimproved value of all lands classified as Class B bv the Arbitrators appointed under the said Act. Wellington. rpARIFF REVISION It is hereby notified for public information that a revision of the Customs Tariff will take place during the session of Parliament to be held in 1921. Any person, wishing to make suggestions or requests in this connection should do so by letter addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Wellington, on or before February 7th next. Instead of individual representation, it is preferable, where there i 8 an oganieation or body representing any trade or commercial interest, that that body should submit its views on account of the trade or interest concerned. Where representation cannot be go made, forms of application for the use ot persons or firms requiring Tariff protection or investigation may be obtained from any Customhouse. A Committee of Departmental Officers will visit the principal business centres during March. . April, and May, 1921, to hear those who wish to speak in support of any applications or communications which have been lodged.
