AUSTRALIA NOT OBSOLETE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. '.Reed. 12.5 a.m.) MELBOUBNE, Nov. 29. Sir Joseph Cook denies a widelyprevalent report that the battleship Australia is obso'ete. He states that she will b» of service for another 10 years, and that, should an emergency arise, a full complement of men necessary to man her could U made up without difficulty. It is persistently rumoured that Commodore Dumaresij, " head of the Australian Navy, will return to England in March 'wing to the reduction of the naval establishment. Commodore Dumaresq, when interviewed, said that the rumours were groundless.
