DELAY TO TAHITI.
FIREMEN OBJECT TO POTATOES.
The departure of the R.M.S. Tahiti for Vancouver yesterday ivras delayed two hours, owing to trouble with the' firemen. The vessel was announced to sail at 3 p.m.. and shortly before that bom- the firemen took exception to the condition of a quantity of potatoes intended for their use. which they alleged were unfit for human consumption. Their complaint was put before Captain D. Todd, master of the Tahiti, and after an inspection had been made the consignment was put ashore. Two cart loads of potatoes of a different aua'itv were then secured the vessel sailing shortly afterwards without iurther incident.
