GERMANS AND CZECHS.
CONFLICTS IN BOHEMIA.
TROUBLE OVER STATUES. A. and N.Z. PRAGUE, Nov. 16. Owing to the resentment- of Germanborn inhabitants of Czecho-Slovakia overthe pulling down of statues of the Emperor Francis Joseph in various towns in Czecho-Slovakia., serious conflicts with State troops have occurred. The Germans entered houses and cut off the hair of girls who were friendly to the troops. In one town the soldiers waited until midnight to pull down a statue. Bells were rung, and the whole population turned out. There was considerable shooting before order was restored.
