PHENOMENAL GAMBLER.
CUBAN AMASSES FORTUNE. LONDON. Sept. 22. Extraordinary luck continues to attend the baccarat play of Hannibal Demesa, a young Cuban sugar-grower, who in August won £140,000 at Deauville. Demesa's winnings for ' September at Biarritz are already £48,000, and he also won £16,000 at Aix-le-Bains. Since he left Deauville the lucky player, who was educated at Harrow, has continued at each place his unparalleled procedure of declaring "open bank," which usually is only made for'one or two special coups. Demesa declares that his brain is clearest when the stakes are heaviest.
