SAN FRANCISCO TO NEW YORK ' AND BACK AGAIN IN & 9 D AYS 10 H OURS Great Trans-Continental Teat. New York to 'Frisco and back again, has just heen achieved by the ESSEX CAR, previous World Records— most coveted endurance and speed teat in the Motor-car World. 6694 M^ 8 IN 9 D AYS 10 H orBS AVERAGING iJATV MILES PER DAY» CABLE FROM ESSEX FACTORY: "Stock Essex Touring Car just" completed Trans-Continental run. New York to San Francisco, in 4 days 19 hours 17 minutes . and from San Francisco to. New York in J 4 days 14 hours 43 minutes, breaking all previous records by more than half day 3347 miles each way. Most coveted record in world. Arrange for widest publicity " This wonderful performance by stock Essex again shows that it inherits the Super-Six endurance and stability. When the Hudson established the record across America in 6 days 3 hours 21 minutes, beating all previous records, it turned around and ran back in 5 days 17 hours 42 minutes, establishing a record both ways, it was considered onbeatable, having travelled 6952 miles in 10 days 21 hours, averaging 700 miies per day* ' The record just established by the Essex, which is 18.2 h.p., is exceedingly more remarkable, considering the «ize and horsepower of the car, covering tne distance in 4 days 19 hours 17 minutes, and then returning in the remarkable time of 4 days 14 hours 43 minutes, a total time of 9 days 10 hours as against the Hudson 10 days 21 hours. The previous records, which were held only one way (no other car ever attempting the two-way trip until the Hudson and Essex did), were Winton, Packard, Franklin. Reo, Btutz, Cadillac, Marmon, Hudson Essex. The record held in the order given, but only one way, with the exception of Hudson and Essex. " SCORES CF OTHER RECORDS."
