According to officially corrected census figures the population of New York City is 5,630,048.

The population of New York City when the last census was taken in 1915 was' 5.253,885. The actual growth of population during the past five years, 366,163, is not as great as was supposed. In July last year the population of the city was estimated at 6,006,794. -
