A QUEENSLAND LOAN.

TO BE RAISED LOCALLY. ELECTORAL ROLLS QUESTIONED. A. and NJZ. , BRISBANE, Oct. 5. Mr. E. G. Theodore, Premier, speaking at, Mackay, said that the Government was raising locally ■ a £2,000,000 loan, voluntarily if possible, but by compulsion if necessary. Not 'a penny piece in dividends ■would' be made by' the London caoitalists "who had cut off supplies. The loan was for development, and the Queensland Government would raise the money. " Much doubt has been cast ;on the genuineness of the State rolls, -which were said to contain more names than the adult population of Queensland. The enrolment exceeds the Commonwealth roll by 64,000.
