BASEBALL BRIBERY.
I CONCERN IN AMERICA. NATIONAL COMMISSION PROPOSED A. and N.Z. NEW YORK, Oct. 3. A strong reaction is developing against baseball " graft." Many managers of large baseball teams are endorsing a plan to establish a national commission composed of Mr. W. H. Taft. Mr. W. A. McAdoo, and General Leonard Wood, which will administer professional baseball along reorganised lines. There has been a loss of . interest in the coming series of matches played annually between the winning teams of the American and National baseball leagues for the supremacy of that sport in America. This year the Cleveland team of the American League and the Brooklyn team of the National League will contend. The prosecuting attorney of Brooklyn examined members of the Brooklyn team, and declared that he was convinced of their bona fides. It is expected that a similar examination will be,made of the Cleveland team in . order to assure the public that the world's series will be aboveboard.
