BRITISH COINAGE ACT.

APPLICATION TO DOMINION. A proclamation has been issued by the

Administrator of the Government relating to the Imperial Coinage Act of 193), by which the standard fineness of silver coins has been reduced to one-half fine -silver, or half alloy. Formerly, the statute required 925 parts of silver and 275 parts of alloy. The Administrator's proclama tion has the effect of making coins of the lower silver-content legal tender in New Zealand.
