The atmospheric pressure has decreased steadily in the South, and northerly, winds have prevailed and have freshened m and southward of Cook Strait. The. weather has been fair generally, bat cloudiness has increased in districts with a westerly aspect. Present indications are for high west to south-west winds and unsettled, squally weather generally, with rain in many parts, especially southwards of New Plymouth and Castlepoint. The barometer is falling, but will rise soon in the South.

She will sail for the United Kingdom on Tuesday, passengers joining her by a tender.

THE COLLIERS. The Ngakuta is due at Auckland to-mor-row from Greymouth with 2000 tons of coal. The Tensho Maru leaves for Newcastle tomorrow to load coal for Auckland.. The small steamer Glenelg arrived horn Whangarei yesterday with a cargo of coal. The Opihi, which loaded a cargo of coal at Newcastle for Gisborne, was unable to discharge her freight there owing to stress of weather and came on to Auckland yesterday, arriving here shortly after 6 p.m. She took up an anchorage in the stream, and will berth at the King's Wharf this morning to discharge.. ... , _ . The Kurow will be floated into the Calliope Dock this morning for cleaning and painting. She will afterwards sail for Newcastle to load coal for New Zealand. TAHITI FROM VANCOUVER. A wireless message was received from the R.M.S. Tahiti yesterday that she expected to arrive from Vancouver, via ports, at 4 p.m. to-day. She will berth at the Queen's Wharf, ana is announced to sail for Sydney at noon on Saturday. CORINTHIC LEAVES COLON. The Corinthic, en route from Southampton to Wellington, left Colon on September 4. She will be due at Wellington on September 26, and will afterwards visit Auckland. THE NAVUA. The Navua is expected to arrive from Dunedin, via ports, early this morning with passengers and cargo. She will berth at the Hobson Wharf, and will sail for Wellington and Dunedin at noon on Saturday.

COMMONWEALTH AND DOMINION LINE. The Port Sydney will sail for Napier tomorrow to continue the discharge of her cargo from London. The Port Napier, which left New York on August 10 for New Zealand and Australian ports, cleared Panama on August 24. She should reach Auckland about September 17. The Port Kembla left London on August 27 for Australian and New Zealand ports. She is coming via the Cape, and is not expected to reach Auckland until about November 14. The Port Augusta is expected to leave-New York for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Australian ports on September 25. The Port Nicholson is to leave London for Auckland, Napier, and Wellington, via Australian ports, on September 20. The Port Stephens is scheduled to leave New York for the four principal New Zealand ports and Australia about September 15.

RIVERINA POSTPONED. The departure of the Riverina for Sydney has been postponed until 2 p.m. to-morrow owing to the congested state of the sheds impeding discharging operations/
