NEW LYNN TOWN BOARD.
I The New Lynn Town Board- met on ' Monday. Mr. G. Lowmu presided, and there were also present: Messrs. S. Sampson, H. Culter, K. O. Gardner, B. Jeffrey, W. Handley, and A. Shaw v I The headmaster of the New Lynn school ' wrote stating that the Education Board ' would subsidise money donated locally toward a library for the school children. He invited the Town Board's help also. It was resolved to donate £10 toward establishing the library. A letter was received from the secretary to the New Zealand Board of Trade stating that in order to avoid undue inconvenience beir.g caused to local authorities in connection with the construction and repairs of urgent works, it had been decided that a permit should be issued to all local authorities to proceed with works other than '< buildings, involving the use of materials lup to £100 for such work. The district engineer of railways wrote I stating that no provision was being made I for duplicate rails on the bridge at present being constructed over the Whau, as in the event of duplication another bridge would probably be requ : red. Sitting as a Domain Board it was decided to have the ground in Lawson Park cleared of gorse and other noxious weeds. It was also resolved to transfer £25 from the Town Board's funds to the Domain Board.
