1 REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE. The revenue secured by the Railway i Department from April 1 to June 26 in ' the North Island totalled £857,965 12s, , and the expenditure amounted to £595,129 ; 15s lid. the latter being 69.371 per cent: of the revenue. In the South Island the revenue totalled £644,168 6s 3d, and the expenditure £504,593 2s 3d. The tot.il revenue for both islands was £1,502133 18s 3d, against £1,398,17814s lOd in the corresponding period last year, and the expenditure £1,099.722 18s 2d, as compared with £822,499 16s lid.
