THE PROFESSIONAL TOURNAMENT. The final of the professional billiard tournament was played on Saturday evening at the Sports Club rooms, and resulted in Little defeating Di?gle by 250 point:. There ■ was a large afktdance of spectators. When the play ceased on the previous evening Little had reached 1076 and Dirrplo 1070. and a good finish was expected. Little exhibited spendid billiards, playing the losing hazard with accuracy, and making few mistakes. Digsle, on the other hand, seemed completely off his game, and failed repeatedly on the winning hazard, which is the backbone of his game. Little won easily by 250 points..-., He made breaks of 45. 40, 42, 30, 21, 27, and 57. having the excellent avermeof I0i, ; Digele's best efforts were 20 and 20. The pro rata break prize was also won . by Little with 65. Little was only defeated by one point in last year's final, and he was the only player not advanced on last year's handicaps. He travelled from Kaikohe to compete, and this combination of facts made his victory • a very popular one. Diggle was the great surprise of the tournament, and with more practice should bo a, doughty opponent next yoar. The playcra made a presentation to the marker, ax. Charlie Brady.
