MR. THEODORE'S VIEWS. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. (Reed. 5.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 31 Mr. W. A. Watt, Federal Treasurer, declines to discuss the statement pub' lished in the Sunday Express that the Government is proposing to transfer i,ht affairs of the Dominions from the Colonial' Office to the Privy Council. Mr. E. G. Theodore, Premier of Queensland, said he had not heard of the proposal officially. He failed to see that any benefit would be derived by transferring Dominion affairs from tho Colonial Office. If it suggested any impairment of the autonomy of the Australian States, it would meet with the utmost resistance. If only the Commonwealth were represented on the Privy Council, it plight tend to friction with the States. 1 This "ould not be tolerated. He personally was favourable to the States conceding greater powers to the Commonwealth on matters )f common interest. ,
