The Chamber of Deputies, by an overwhelming majority, signified its confidence in M. Millerand after his explanation regarding tho Anglo-French indemnity policy. He denied that any definite sum had been fixed at the Hytho conference. France's bill for reparations, compiled to date, amounted to- 66,000,000,000 gold marks (£3,300,000,000). France was not disposed to withdraw from tho occupied areas of Germany. The' Allies admitted the principle of occupation of territory if Germany broke her engagements. It would bo scandalous if Germany did not pay tho J debt to which she pledged herself at Versailles. She must pay for all the losses sho had inflicted. Australian imd NX. Cable Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) ROME, May 29. The Italian Government discussed tho financial decisions of tho Hyt/ho conference. It is reported that the Government will strongly oppose them as being quite inadequate to meet Italy's just claims.
The Cabinet has decided to insist on a .postponement of the Spa conference until July.
