'ROOM FOR CIVILIAN CASES.

Regarding the future use of military hospitals,* Brigadier-Genera] McGavin, Director*-General of Medical Services, stated last week that a policy had been decided upon, that as the number of patients in the military hospitals dimin ished the beds that thus became vacant would be made available for civilian patients sent in under arrangements with the Health Department. At present tht Trenthani. Rotorua. and Pukeora hospitals were able to take in a number of civilian patients. The cost of these,, of course, would lie borne by the Health Department.
