BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING. * [BT TttEOBAPH.-- CO*BBSPONDENf.] HAMILTON. Friday. The adjourned meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council was held . last night. Tho Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow,. presided. The resolution of the last Borough Council, urging an alteration in the present system of providing revenue for hospital boards was endorsed. The Auckland Railways League wrote asking for assistance in petitioning the Government for a fairer share of loan expenditure in the North Island. It was decided that the council would do all that it could to assist, tho Mayor remarking that thero was no doubt the North Island had boen greatly neglected in the past. In a comprehensive report upon the past year's working, the borough engineer, Mr. W. H. Stevens, stated that a gravitational sewerage scheme for the whole district had been prepared, and other important matters dealt with. He mentioned that tho value of buildings for which permits had been issued was £234,525, which showed an increase of £172,462 over the previous year's figures. This year's figures were in respect to 369 buildings as against 109 buildings the previous year. Consideration of the report was referred to a special meeting next Wednesday. : "A special committee was set up to go 'into the matter of alteration* to office accommodation and the staff.
