BANKRUPT PROSECUTED,

ALLEGED EXTRAVAGANCE. [bt TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHDRCH, Friday. In the Magistrate's Court William Shaw, trading as the North Shaw Rubber" Company, was charged with breaches of the Bankruptcy Act, in that (1) having been adjudged a bankrupt, he had within three years from the commencement of such bank-uptcy made payment out of the regular course of his vbusiness, not being for ordinary expenses of himself or his family; (2) that, having been adjudged a bankrupt, he had by unjustifiable extravagance brought about such bankruptcy. Shaw, who pleaded not guilty, reserved his defence, and was ; committed for trial. Bail was allowed in surety of £100.
