SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS.

The first of a series of meetings of members of the New Zealand Society of Accountants was held last evening, Mr. 0. ('. Go- ie presiding over a ' good attendance. The committee has instituted a new departure in accountants' meetings, in that members have tea together, after which addresses on subjects of general interest are given by well-known local speakers. Interesting addresses were delivered last evening by Mr. W R Tuck who spoke on " Some Reflections on the -Deeper Causes of Industrial Unrest " and by Dr. C. Tewsley, whose subject was, 'Medicine and the People." At the next meeting the speakers will be the Hon. George Fowlds and Professor Algie the subjects being " Chairmanship" and ringer Print Evidence" respectively".
