SUBURBAN TRAIN SERVICE.
♦ RACE DAY INCONVENIENCES. PEOTEST FEOM NEW LYNN. The suburban train service was the subject of discussion by the New Lynn Town Board on Monday evening. One aspect of the subject was the effect of race day traffic on the ordinary service in connection with which the following resolution was carried —" Whereas numerous complaints have been made by regular patrons of the railways resident in this district of the nnwarr: itable interference , with the regular time-table of the trains running in the suburban aiea, particularly those primarily arranged for the oonveyt ance of people -e- .n the city, the board empbaiicah; protests against the growing tendency of the Department to ignore the rights nd convenience of the regular U!ers of the trains, and trosts that the Minister will tike steps to put a stop to a practice which is not in the best inta-e«.~ of the public." The board asked that provision be made to obviii* this.
