STUD HEREFORDS SOLD.
AN AUSTRALASIAN RECORD. [by TELEGRAPH.— press ASSOCIATION.] FEILDING. Tuesday. An Australasian iecord for Hereford cows -was established at Peilding to-dsv at the opening of the dispersal sale of Mr. Ernest Short's Farorangi herd. For a stud Hereford cow 405 guineas was bid bv Mr. E. E. Short, the animal in question being Happy Ilosa 4th. Mr. Fred Fairey, nt Nelson, gave 155 guineas for Moncktoii Lass 3rd. All the lots sold, and they go to all parts of the Dominion, from W'liarigaiei u Invercargill, and two lots go to Victoria. A tew aged cows ranged from 15 to 35 guineas ; others ranged from 40 to 80 guineas. The general tendency of buyers was lor animals with long pedigrees. There was a large attendance, and , bidding was brisk. 8
