TO-DAY'S EDITION. BEAUTIFUL ILLUSTRATIONS. WIDE RANGE OF SUBJECTS. The wide range of pictorial subjects published in to-day's issue of the Auckland Weekly News is of a very attractive nature, and should prove of general interest. A splendid set of views, reproduced on a double page, deals with deepsea fishing in New Zealand waters, and gives evidence of the fine sport that can be obtained. The Ngaruawahia Regatta, held last week, is fully covered by a page of picturesque snapshots, several of the Maori events being exceedingly well portrayed. Bishop Cleary's visit to Tauranga by seaplane is touched upon, and several good snapshots of the Bay of Plenty coastline, taken from the seaplane, are also published. Two remarkably picturesque views of the Niagara Falls in the icy grip of winter are reproduced, both being unusual pictures. The great unrest prevailing in Germany is strikingly portrayed by a photograph of the huge demonstration outside the Reichstag "in Berlin, which was dispersed by gunfire early this year. " The Hungry Family" is_ toe title of a topical cartoon, dealing with the demands of the railwaymen of New Zealand. Other subjects include the \ following : —Qisborne-Napier railway construction, the unveiling of the monument! to the memory of the late Flight-Lieu-tenant Wesley Neal Spragg at Katarakihi Park, the Ponsonby regatta, the vanishing kauri, and a varied collection of other views. _j -
