T*)e forthcoming State election in New South Wales will be responsible for considerable party changes irrespective of the result of the poll. Several members are retiring from political life, and a number of others are forsaking Mr. W. A. Holman, the Premier, and joining the Progressive Party. Two of the most prominent of these are Mr. T. R. Bav'n (Gordon) and Colonel J..W. M. Onslow (Bondi). COMMONWEALTH REFERENDA. I / 500,000 INFORMAL VOTES. (Feed. 11.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 30. Details of the referenda poll in connection with the recent Federal ejection disclose ii large informal vote, largely composed of those who refused to mark their papers. On the question of extending the legislative powers of the Commonwealth Government 195,000 informal votes were cast, and on the question of giving power to the Commonwealth Government to deal ■\rith monopolies the informal votes totalled 557,000. ROSS SMITE'S FLIGHT. REPAIRS WELL IN HAND. SYDNEY, Jan. 30, The repaint to Sir Ross Smith's aeioplane, which broke down in Queensland at a place called Charlton, are progressing satisfactorily, and he expects to resume his journey in time to reach Sydney on February 11. j|> , WAHINE AT EREMANTLE. FRSMANTLE, Jan. 30. The Union Company's steamer Wahine, which was taken over by the British Government during the war, has arrived here on her voyage back to New Zealand from London.
