WORK OF REPATRIATION.
AUCKLAND BOARD'S ACTIVITIES. The District Repatriation Boaid met yesterday, Mr. A. W. Gillies presiding. A total of 55 applications for business loans ranging from £50 to £300 were considered, and of these 32 were granted and recommended, tho remainder being held over for further investigation, withdrawn, or not recommended. Two transfers of business were granted. Thirty applications for furniture loans in sums from £24 to £50 wore granted, four being referred back or refused. The vocational training officer's report, which was adopted, recommended the following applications Throe from trainees who had finished their training for tho retained portion of their subsidy, eight •for loans for tools of trade, 11 foe sugis to purchase books and pay school fees, three for subsidies while completing apprenticeships, 10 for sustenance while studyin'* at technical schools, etc., and ?1 for subsidies while training in private establishments.
