LATE COLONEL GUDGEON.
A MILITARY FUNERAL. A military funeral was accorded the late .Colonel W. E. Gudgeon, C.M.G. The 'cortege left hi* late residence, King .Edward's Parade, Devonport, yeaterdav for the O'Neill's Point Cemetery. The ; firing party was supplied from the Permjinent Force, and among the officers present [were Major J. A. Wallingford (representI ing Colonel H. R. Potter, officer commanding the Auckland military district' Colonel G. Craig, D.5.0., son-in-law of the I deceased, and Lieutenant Quigiev. Others present included Judge C. F. MacConnick lof the Native Land Court, representing Sir William Hemes, Minister for Native Affairs, Judge J.. W. Brown, of Gisborae, ex-Judge H. Dunbar Johnson, Messrs E. P. Earle, registrar of the Native Land Court, H. V*. Nortbcroft, N.Z.C., Roland Hill, representing the veteran* W Ware aW ) W.T. Raymond. The chief mourners included Messrs. H. and M* Gudgeon, the burial service was conducted bv the " ev -. 4 A V-, J- Greenwood, vicar of Holv rnnity Church, Devonport. A number of beautiful floral tributes wer&Jaid on the grave.
