The centre of the' disturbance is believed to be near the volcano zabaThe State of Vera Cruz suffered the . greatest damage, wild scenes of panic being enacted there. Many of the natives rushed to the churches, where they prayed. A similar panic occurred at Toluca, Cuernavaca, and Puebla.
