LIQUOR IN "DRY" AREA.
HEAVY PENALTIES IMPOSED. ONE FINE OF FIFTY POUNDS, [BY TELEGRAPH.PEESS ASSOCIATION.] TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday. Guilty of sly-grog selling in the King Country a defendant was fined £50 by Mr. Burton, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day. Fines aggregating £140 were imposed on Europeans on various charges of supplying natives with liquor for consumption off licensed premises.
