A letter just received, dated November 4, 1919, gives particulars of a three days' motor-cycle race meeting at San Angelo, Texas, U.S.A., in winch the " indiAN" won every event on the programme except one. About the same time Roy Astley, with a Powerplus " INDIAN " established a new record between San Francisco and San Angeles, a distance of 461 miles, which he covered in 9 hours and 25 minutes, breaking the motor-cycle record by 39 minutes and the Cadillac Motor-car record by 12 minutes. Also, about the same time a new side-car record was established by the INDIAN from New York City to Indianapolis, in 27 hours 5 minutes. Distance 897 miles. Then, at Karnsburg, Pa., tne ! INDIAN is credited with a 100 per I cent, win in Endurance Contest, held October 26. Two Indians enI tered; and these were the only ma- ; f chines to finish. At Greely, Colorado, in the first big 24-hour endurance run ever held in that section, the only perfect time score and the highest consistency record went to the INDIAN and Side-car. Out of 14 side-cars entered only three finished, of which two were Indians. j The Scottish speed championship I at St. Andrew's, Scotland, was also annexed by the INDIAN, which i also won the heavy-weight championship and the unlimited solo and side-car events.
