VISCOUNT GREY'S MISSION.

The Washington correspondent of the New York Times states that it is | expected that Viscount Grey will j retire and return to England at an ! early date. It is understood that I Viscount Grey accepted the Amj bassadorship at Washington temporarily in order to settle matters between the United States and Britain arising from the war, but owing to Mr. Wilson's illness, he will probably leave without reaching a settlement.
