BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY. \ Business was active on the sharemarfceb yesterday, buyers being in evidence for most stocks, though transactions were not numerous. In insurances, New Zealands •were looked for at 31s 3d, sellers asking 32s 3d. For Nationals 73s was offered, sellers 765. South British had sellers at £8 17s*6d, In financial lines, River Plates had demand at 435, sellers 465. In coals, Taupiris sold at 17s Id, with further buyers at same figure, sellers 17s 6d. In gas, business was reported in Aucklands at 26s 9d, and more were wanted at 26s 6d, with late sellers at 275. In shipping, business was reported in Huddart Parkers at 48a 9d, sellers closing at 49s 6d, buyers at. 48s 6d. In lines, a transac-, tion was reported in Milne and Choyce at : 278 3d. In mining, Waihis were/easier,; several parcels changing hands at from sls to 49s 9d, with late sellers at 49s 9d, and buyers at 49a 6d. Business was reported in Rising Suns at Is sd.
