Authoritative reports from Turkestan reveal significant' Bolshevik activities in Central Asia. An extraordinary Mohammedan demonstration was held at Tashkend, the capital of Russian Turkestan, in commemoration of the anniversary of Bolshevik rule. Tens of thousands of people marched in procession, Russian Mohammedan bands playing revolutionary airs. Thirty I Mohammedan proletariat organisations took part, and also 10,000 Mohammedan children, who carried pictures of Lenin and Trotzky. There were similar demonstrations in Moscow, when the so-called Afghan Ambassador declared for an alliance between Afghanistan and Soviet Russia.
