CONTINENTAL COMPETITION. ANOTHER RECORD PRICE. A., and N.Z. LONDON. Deo. 4. A representative catalogue of 11.874 bales, of which 4989 were New Zealand, was submitted at the London wool sales to-day. There was strong competition, Continental buyers being the chief operators. Faulty merinos were sold at par to 5 per cent, advance. Stylish crossbreds, slipes, and scoured crossbreds were firm. Australian clips realised up to 7s 9d, a record. The New Zealand clip, Westre, was sold at.3l ls. At Bradford the market was strong, but business was quiet pending the London opening.
