! (Published by Arrangement -with a. body of Electors of Roskill, acting independently of Mr. Gunson's Committee.) MR. GUNSON'S CANDIDATURE. -*». The deputation that waited upon Mr. J. H. Gunson and induced him to contest the Roskill electorate consisted of representatives of each political party and all classes of citizens—professional, commercial, and workers. The members of the deputation, realising Mr. Gunson's great administrative ability, as displayed in controlling the comprehensive affairs of the Auckland Harbour Board, and later those of the Auckland City Council, felt that a man of such outstanding qualifications should be serving the country in Parliament at a time when such men are so badly needed. The war lias created a very critical condition in the affairs of New Zealand, and the duty devolves on the people to exercise their best efforts to secure representation in Parliament by men who, by their earnest and conscientious devotion to the public welfare, could hardly fail to bring about the desired prosperous condition of our Dominion. ( False and ridiculous rumours are being circulated to the detriment of Mr. Gunson in his absence, and, if the people who have it in their power to elect him as their representative see fit, in view of these unjust criticisms, to "turn down" a man who has sacrificed his private interests and devoted his whole time for the past four years in directing the affairs of the city, then God help democracy. Mr. Gunson is recruiting his health after a most strenuous period of patriotic work, when he fulfilled his duty to the soldiers and the citizens in a most creditable manner. This is the. opportunity for the people of Auckland, and the electors of the Roskill constituency in particular, to display their appreciation of our worthy Mayor's efforts and their loyalty to him i by once more placing him in a position that he is eminently suited to hold. ELECTORS OF ROSKILL. VOTE FOR GUNSON. BECAUSE Gunson is a proved successful business man. Gunson is a successful public man. Gunson lias uplifted the City of Auckland.
