James Ir.gs. of Knox Church. i Paruell, returned to Auckland yesterdav ! morning from Irrverearg'll. where he atj tended the-General Assembly. i Mr. J. E. Menzies, who ha,* been for over ten years engineer for the Vincent County, has been appointed to a similar position in Waimea County, Nelson. The Rev. Isaar Jolly, of St. Stephens Church, Ponsonby, who had buen at Invercargili as a member of the Presbyterian General Assembly, returned to Auckland yesterday morning. Major E. L. Hornibrook. N.Z.M.C. Captain G. Sandham, M.C.. N.Z.M.C, of Palmerston, and Sister E. G. Brooke. N.Z.A.N.S., are vir.itinz Auckland in con-nect-on with the military hospital at Narrow Neck. Thev are at the Star Hotel. Archbishop Redwood, who has been on a lengthy visit to Australia, has retnrned to Wellington. While in Australia he attended many important meetings and functions and was a prominent figure at the Irish race convention. Captain J. V. Bymester, of the East India Land Company, is visiting relations at Featherston. Captain Bymester, who was formerly attached to one of the lancer regiments, has charge of a large plantation in Eastern India. His health broke down some months ago, and he will visit the health resorts of New Zealand before returning.
