CHURCH ARMY WORK.
AN APPEAL FOR FUNDS. A first instalment from New Zealand of £200 to provide Christmas dinners for children in Church Army homes was forwarded to London this week bv the Dominion eectetary of the Church Army the Rev. F. W. Whibley, of Ormondville. The activities of the Church Army prior to the war vero devoted to assisting the poor and needy in the slums, and £250 was spent annually in this direction. The work of the army now absorbs £400,000 a year, principally raised bv voluntary subscription. purine the war period the Church Army 6pok charge of the children of soldiers and \ sailors who were at the front.
