GALE IN THE SOUTH.
COASTAL STEAMERS DELAYED. [BY TELEGRAPH.— press association^ DUNEDIN, Thursday. The steamer Calm, which arrived at 2.40 a.m. to-day from Wellington, encountered bad weather between Lyttelton and Timaru and was severely bujeted by heavy seas. The coastal steamer Storm, which left Picton early this week for Dunedin, has been delayed by the rough weather, and was sheltering yesterday in Pigeon Bay.
