Dalgety and Co., Ltd.. report: DuriDg the past month we held our usual stock sales as follows — At Broadwood there was a full yarding of all classes of cattle, and with the exception of a few pens of cows and calves and young steers, everything was sold. Prices were much the same as last month. Three to 3i-yr. steers, £10 to £10 12s 6d: 0 to 2J-yr. steers, £5 10s to £8 Is; yearlings, m.s. £1 i 10s to £2 15s; empty cows, £4 5s to £6 6s; 2 to 2£-yr. empty heifers, £3 10s to £5 12s 6d:, bulls, £7 10s to £12 6s. I At Rangiahua there was a small yarding. Fat cows brought £8 10s to £9 10s; no grown cattle offering; 2 to 2}-yr. steers, £5 to £6 las; dairy heifers, close to profit, £6 to £7 ss. ! There was a. full yarding at Kaikohe. but on account of dry weather prices were not so good as in the previous month. AVONDALE ROAD BOARD. ♦ Tlie Avondale Koad Board met on Wednesday. Mr. R. B. Nesbitfc presided. ■■ and there were also present Messrs. F . Hampshire, A. Morgan, J. Thomas, K !J. Allely, C. F. Gardner, and J. W. Tait. Mr. Tiarks wrote complaining of the state of Gilfillan Street. The supervisor said the work was done in the usual way. The letter *>." 5 received. Ward, on behalf of the local lodge of Oddfellows, asked the board to i rescind a resolution recently passed to I increase the rent charged the lodge for i use of the public hall. He said, the lodge, during the lust five years, had paid out over £500 in skk and • funeral benefits. Mr. Hampshire gave notice uf motion to' rescind the resolution. Mr. Gardner reported having attended ; the conference of local bodies to discuss I the quality of gas. The substance of his report was that he disagreed with the method of analysing the gas, but ho I agreed that the company should supply gas of a pure quality. I The chairman and Mr. Gardner jointly reported having attended a meeting called by the Good Roads' Association in furtherance of its objects. The next meet- , ing of the board will be held on December I 18. Mr. Bellamy's tender for deg collars at* 8s 9d per dozen was accepted.
