EAST COAST HIGHWAY.
IMPROVEMENT PROPOSALS. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS association.] OPOTIKI, Thursday. The County Council has resolved to raise a loan for the construction of roads and bridges and the purchase of plant, including two motor lorries, for the Main jcast Coast Road from Opotiki to East Cape. This roa.d is regarded as a work of national importance. It will assist greatly in opening up hundreds of square miles of exceedingly rich country. The total cost is estimated at £90.000.
