OBITUARY.

-OLD COLONIST'S DEATB-

MR. A. MnMINN.

An old colonist. Mr. Alexander McMinn, died at his residence. Albert Road. Devonport, on Tuesday, aged 77. The deceased, who was well-known in journalistic circles in the Dominion, was bora in England, and was educated at the Moravian College. He came to New Zealand as a youth, and spent the greater part of his life in the TaranaV.i. Wanpanui, and Manawatu districts. Mr. McMinn was connected with a number if newspapers, and was at one time proprietor of the Evening Standard, at Palmerston North. He saw service with the Wanganui troopers during the Maori war. Deceased is survived by Mrs. McMinn and an adult family. One son, Mr. Gordon McMinn, is a journalist at Bendigo. Another son, who died last year, was a well-known New Zealand football representative.
