GAS EMPLOYEES' DISPUTE.
OVERTIME WORK REFUSED. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Pending a settlement of the demands recently made by the men at the Miramar gasworks for increased wages the men have decided to discontinue working overtime. Thus, with the exception of stokers on ordinary shifts, no work will be done after five o'clock on Saturday Afternoon or on Sundays. If a breakdown of the machinery occurs during this period gasmaking may' have to cease, as it is imperative that such repairs shall be done immediately, no matter what the time of day or night. If this cannot be done there is danger of the city's gag supply stopping without notice.
