STOCKS AND SHARES.
BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.
There was a fairly good demand for investment stocks on the sharemarket yesterday. A sale of Now Zealand Inscribed Stock was effected at £95 7s 6cl. other buyers offering £95 ss, sellers £95 12s 6d. In banks, buyers of, Commercials advanced their offers to £6 15s without response from sellers. New South Wales were wanted at £39 10s, and Unions at £62, no sellers offering. There were inquiries for New Zealands (fully paid) nt, £18 12s 6d, sellers £19 2s 6d. In insurances, sellers offered New Zealands at 335, no buyers being quoted. South British were wanted/ at £9 3s, sellers £9 7s. In shipping, a sale of Devonport Ferry was reported at 20s, the closing quotations being sellers 295, buyers 27s 9<l. Business was done in Northern Steamship (contributing) at 8s 6d, other buyers offering 8s 4d. sellers 8s 9d. P. and O. (deferreel stock) was wanted at £628, sellers £640. In miscellaneous lines" busiapss was transacted in Wilsons, Cement at 15s 9d. a further sale at the' same figure being reported, and closing quotations were sellers 16s. buyers ?lss Bd. In mining, a sale of Talismans was reported at 12s 4d. other buyers offering 12s 2d, sellers 12s sd. Waihis were wanted at 40s 3d. sellers 48s 6d. Grand Junction.? were quoted at 14s 3d, buyers offering 15s Bd.
