The Mararpa threw one of her propeller blades on her trip from Lyttelton and Wei- ' lington last week, and in consequence she . was to go into dock at Lyttelton yesterday. ! As a result the vessel will miss one trip. Arrangements were made for the Mokoia, en route from Dunedin to Auckland, via ports, to take the " ferry " run from Lyttelton to ' Wellington last night. The Monowai. south- j ward bound from Auckland, via ports, will ] take the Mararoa's run from Wellington to Lyttelton to-night. THE STRANDED VALMARIE. Captain J. Harris and the members of the crew of the schooner Valmarre, which ran aground in a heavy fog off the Gippsland coast at the beginning of this month, arrived at Melbourne on October 8. Captain Harris said that when they left the vessel she was firmly beached in shallow water, and was filling with sand. She was also leaking badly. There seemed no chance of her being successfully refloated. THE ARAHURA. The Arahura arrived from the East Coastearly yesterday. She was delayed at Gisborne from Friday morning until late on Saturday night, owing to a very heavy sea. preventing her working cargo. The vessel was also delayed at Tokomaru Bay embarking passengers, and also on the way to Auckland by a strong head wind. She berthed at Hie King's Wharf in order to utilise the Harbour Board's cranes at each hatch. Cargo operations were completed, early this morning, when she sailed for Gisborne and Napier. She is due back at Auckland on Friday. - y AUCKLAND-ISLAND STEAMERS. The Paloona. left Sura at 9 a.m. on Sunday with a cargo of sugar for Auckland. She ! i due hero on Thursday. After discharging she will enter the Auckland-Fiji. Samoa, and Tonga passenger and cargo service for one trip, leaving Auckland on October 29. She is due back at Auckland on November 20. The Navua. which is being refitted for the trade, will then relieve the Paloona and take up the service permanently. She is timed to leave Auckland on November 22. and will arrive back on December 13. The Flora is timed to sail for the Eastern Pacific on Thursday, and is due back here on November 1". She- is to sail again on November 21. returning on December 16. The Tafune, which is making her final trip on the Western Pacific passenger and cargo service, is expected to leave Suva for Auckland on October 30. and is due hero on November 5.
