DROUGHT IN AUSTRALIA.

PESSIMISTIC REPORT.

CUTTING WHEAT FOR HAY.

[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.)

TIMAED, Saturday.

The following private message has beea received from Sydney:"November will see early wheat cut for hay at £13 per ton. It is raining a little in some places, but the north and west are in a bad way. Our wheat will come next season from Riverina. We may have a good crop there, but everywhere there •will be a shortage of straw and fodder if general dry weather continues. We may gee the export of wheat prohibited, and should a flour shortage occur, we would not know where to look to fill it."
