MOTOR-CAR CAPSIZES.
RETIRED FARMER INJURED.
CONCUSSION OF THE BRAIN.
ACCIDENT AT ONEHUNGA.
The capsize of a motor-car in Onehunga yesterday morning, resulted in a retired farmer, Mr. Ernest Peters, receiving concussion of the brain, and the top portion of one ear being cut off.
Mr. Peters, who is a married man, aged 42, residing at Norman's Hill Road, Onehunga, was in the car with Mr. S. Bishop, an employee in the locomotive branch of the Railway Department. In Church Street West, the car, according to eyewitnesses, was turned suddenly, with the result that the front wheels locked causing it to overturn. Mr. Biehop was thrown clear and escaped with a, few bruises, but Mr. Peters was pinned by the head beneath the car.
The injured man was attended by Dr. W. U. Scott, and was afterwards' conveyed to the hospital, where his condition was so serious that an immediate operation was deemed necessary. At a late hour last night Mr. Peters had not recovered consciousness, and his condition was reported to be serious.
