OFFICIAL OPENINGS

RAWHITI CLUB.

Th« Rawhiti Club officially opened its season on Saturday afternoon. The president, Mr. J. H. Jackson, in declaring the green open, thanked the members who were responsible for the great improvements that had been made. Burnand's Professional Band was in attendance, and provided an entertaining musical programme. The following are the results: Caves, Martinson, Bennett, Christie, 20, v. MOTJNT EDEN CLUB. There was a large attendance at the Mount Eden. Club's green on Saturday afternoon, when the season was declared open by the president, Mr. George Tutt. He referred to the loss the club had sustained by the death of Mr. W. Holland and Mesdames O. Nicholson and J. Vuglar, all of whom had taken a great deal of interest in the affairs of the club. Mrs. Tutt rolled, the first" jack, and the afternoon was de-' voted to games between teams picked by tha president and vice-president. A musical programme was supplied by Marriage's orchestra. There had been a considerable increase in membership, and the finances were in such a good state that it had been possible to add a second storey to the pavilion. The upstairs portion was to be used as a social hall ""and billiardroom, and one of the two billiard tables was now in position.
