FORTUNE FROM A FARM. Though still a stoker in the United States Navy, E. L. Perkins is the possessor of an annual income approaching £100.000. Until he jnintd up to take part in the war Perkins lived with his parents on the old family farm in Texas. Then came the war, and he enlisted in the United States Navy, was assigned to transport duty, and later was sent into the Iniperator's engine-room to work as a stoker.
