STOKER OIL KING.
FORTUNE FROM A FARM. Though still a stoker in the United States Navy, E. L. Perkins is the possessor of an annual income approaching £100.000. Until he jnintd up to take part in the war Perkins lived with his parents on the old family farm in Texas. Then came the war, and he enlisted in the United States Navy, was assigned to transport duty, and later was sent into the Iniperator's engine-room to work as a stoker. Oil was discovered a few weeks ago on the little farm down in Texas, and now Perkins is the recipient of the fabulous sum of £8000 a month. Perkins received word of his great good fortune just before the Imperator left Brest for New York. Though he has two more years of service in the navy, Perkins declares that he will not try for his discharge prior to that time. The stoker millionaire says he hope* to nee the money " for t.he benefit of the world and Chriatia.iitjr,"
